Role Purpose

 

Define, implement, and maintain the System Architecture for Lumen Freedom’s Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) System, ensuring processes and products fulfil various requirements, defined and derived, from design and implementation engineers, users and regulatory bodies.

  • To work alongside fellow team members with integrity, honesty, and reliability.

  • Abide by all occupational health and safety, and environmental requirements of Lumen ensuring all systems & procedures relating to SAFETY are adhered to.

  • General duties as directed by management.



Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead and grow the systems engineering team, build new team functions, introduce new systems engineering tools/principles/methods as required to suit the business needs

  • Steer product development to fulfill current and future standards, and improve the experience of the end user

  • Deliver and maintain system requirements according to customer needs, global compliance, and ongoing innovation

  • Maintain and extend systems engineering processes according to the product development V-model

  • Build/maintain a portfolio of leadership:

  1.  Systems engineering team

  2.  Worldwide regulatory compliance

  3.  User experience


Key Skill Sets

  • Technical knowledge to support Systems Engineering across electrical, electronic, software and mechanical domains

  • Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit with future orientation

  • Maintain positive relationships, both internal and external

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Able to multitask and effectively prioritize workload to complete tasks within time constraints

  • Experience in a highly structured product development environment; for example, automotive, aerospace, defence or medical

  • Experience with IBM ELM tool-set (DOORS/DNG)

  • Bachelor, or higher, degree in a technical discipline - electrical, electronics, software, mechatronics, systems engineering

  • Post graduate qualification in Systems Engineering (desirable)
